104 / 104P Double margin drills are useful for drilling close tolerance holes. Often their use eliminates the need for a final sizing operation. Double margin construction provides an additional secondary margin on the trailing edge of each land. These secondary margins give four good guide points for improved stability in guide bushings and in the hole.
Double margin step (pilot) drills are used for drilling holes when guide bushings cannot be used.
